Foreign Trade Zones

There is currently no FTZ Sub-zone or FTZ Special Purpose Zone within Crawford County. There is, however, an exclusive agreement with General Purpose FTZ #254 located in DuBois, Pennsylvania, approximately 100  miles east of Meadville on Interstate 80. This makes all the FTZ amenities immediately available to companies while ensuring that there are no special fees beyond what the government already charges for being part of the mother zone.

The DuBois-Jefferson County Airport General Purpose Foreign Trade Zone #254 consists of 337 acres of developable land adjacent to the DuBois-Jefferson County Airport, about five (5) miles from I-80. There is nearby access to the Genesee-Wyoming Railroad with connection to CSX and Norfolk Southern. Currently there is storage space available for lease on site for FTZ activities. Fifty-three acres of the property is also designated a Keystone Opportunity Zone which provides some local and state tax reductions or elimination. 

Erie FTZ #247

The Port of Erie's Foreign Trade Zone is located on Lake Erie, approximately 33 miles north of Crawford County. There are three warehousing and distribution sub zones in place at the Mountfort Terminal, Erie International Airport and Hardinger Transfer Company.

The zone is accessible via the Saint Lawrence Seaway, Interstate 79, Interstate 90 and Interstate 86; Norfolk Southern and CSX main lines; and the Erie International Airport.

Pittsburgh FTZ #33

The  Pittsburgh Foreign Trade Zone #33, approximately 90 miles south of Crawford County, covers 5,261 acres on four non-contiguous sites. The sites include a portion of the Regional Industrial Development Corporation Park West, Pittsburgh International Airport, Westmoreland Business and Research Park in Upper Burrell and Washington Townships, and Leetsdale Industrial Park in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania.

Within the designated general-purpose zone are land for sale and lease; buildings for lease; large and small warehousing opportunities; barge unloading and loading facilities; and rail, truck and air cargo facilities. All forms of transportation have been accommodated within the general purpose zone.

Currently there is one sub-zone activated.
